The Miraculous Qasidah 99 ٍ َم ی ْ ھٰذَا ھُو َ الْقَوْل ُ الَّذِي ْ فِي ابْن ِ مَر َ و ٍ َم ی ْ ھٰذَا ھُو َ الْقَوْل ُ الَّذِي ْ فِي ابْن ِ مَر َ ُو الْمُتَنَصِّر أَیُّهَا ُ النَّصَارٰی َقُوْل ی ُ الْمُتَنَصِّر أَیُّهَا ُ النَّصَارٰی َقُوْل ی This would be like the statement issued by the Christians regarding ‘ I s a [Jesus], O ye who are so similar to the Christians! ْ ُ تَشَابَهَت َ الْقُلُوْب ْف ی کَ عَجَبًا َا ی َ ف ْ ُ تَشَابَهَت َ الْقُلُوْب ْف ی کَ عَجَبًا َا ی َ ُف ْ تَتَفَطَّر ْ قَوْلِکُم مِن َ السَّمَا ُفَکَاد ْ تَتَفَطَّر ْ قَوْلِکُم مِن َ السَّمَا فَکَاد I find it amazing how the hearts of these two groups have come to bear such striking resemblance; Indeed, the heavens may well-nigh rend asunder because of what they say. ُ تَنْحِت َ ْسٰی و ی أَتُطْرِء ُ عَبْدًا مِّثْل َ عِ ُ تَنْحِت َ ْسٰی و ی ُأَتُطْرِء ُ عَبْدًا مِّثْل َ عِ تَهْذُر َ ِ و َاء ی َنْبِ ْأ اْل ً ک َا ُ رُتْبَة ُلَه تَهْذُر َ ِ و َاء ی َنْبِ ْأ اْل ً ک َا ُ رُتْبَة لَه Would you, like you do in relation to ‘ I s a , lavish such exaggerated praise on a servant? Would you declare him to be equal to the Prophets? ُ ْت َ مَقَامَه ی ْت َ شِعْرِي ْ ھَل ْ رَأَ ی َ َ ل اْل َ أ ُ ْت َ مَقَامَه ی ْت َ شِعْرِي ْ ھَل ْ رَأَ ی َ َ ل اْل َ ُأ ْر ٍ أَو ْ عَلَی الظَّن ِّ تَعْمُر ی ِ ُکَمِثْل ِ بَص ْر ٍ أَو ْ عَلَی الظَّن ِّ تَعْمُر ی ِ کَمِثْل ِ بَص If only you had been wise enough! Are you personally a witness to his elevated station, Or is the whole basis [of your belief ] based on imagination? ً َة ی ْ فِر َّ و کِذْبًا َّ ً و ِ إِطْرَاء ْه ی ِ أَتُعْل ً َة ی ْ فِر َّ و کِذْبًا َّ ً و ِ إِطْرَاء ْه ی ِ ُأَتُعْل ُ الْمُقَدِّر سَقَاه مَا ِ کَأْسًا ْه ی ِ ُأَتَسْق ُ الْمُقَدِّر سَقَاه مَا ِ کَأْسًا ْه ی ِ أَتَسْق Do you want to raise this edifice merely on falsehood and imposture? Would you make him drink from the goblet that God has not offered to him? ْ ْ اَلَکََمِکُم تَکَاد ُ السَّمٰوَات ُ العُلٰی مِن ْ ْ اَلَکََمِکُم ُتَکَاد ُ السَّمٰوَات ُ العُلٰی مِن مُتَقَرِّر َ وَقْتُھَا اْل ْ َ لَو ُتَفَطَّرْن مُتَقَرِّر َ وَقْتُھَا اْل ْ َ لَو تَفَطَّرْن Indeed, the heavens may well-nigh rend asunder because of what you proclaim, Even though the appointed time of their rending asunder may not have come.
