But if it has to be split up for a time due to the extraordinary resentments that have currently built up amongst Hindus and Muslims, that is another matter. In the course of certain procedures, physicians will recommend that a certain limb is cut off out of necessity when no other medical option is available. And if the patient understands that the loss of the limb can be offset in other ways, then only a fool would not opt for this choice. Similarly, if we have agreed to the partition of India, we do so unwillingly and out of compulsion and sooner or later we will seek to reunite it.
