Response to the booklet entitled Ilh a m i Girgit 113 I have the Power to Bestow Life and Death Maulaw i Sahib has copied the following passage from Hadrat Mirza Sahib’s book Khutbah Ilh a miyyah: ِ َاء ِ مِن َ الرَّب ِّ الْفَعَّال ي ْ ْت ُ صِفَۃ َ الِْفْنَاء ِ و َ الِْح ي و َ اُعْطِ I have been granted the power to cause death and bring about life. This power was given to me by God. ( Khu t bah Ilh a miyyah, p. 55–56, Ru ha n i Khaz a ’in, vol. 16) Maulaw i Sahib then gave this passage the title ‘I have the power to bestow life and death’. Maulaw i Sahib, here, again, you resort to deception. You leave the impression that the title that you have written is from Hadrat Mirza Sahib. As a matter of fact, he never claimed that he was the bestower of life and death. He did say that God had given him a share in the attribute of bringing on life and death. Why does Maulaw i Sahib object to Hadrat Mirza Sahib’s being granted a share of the power to bring about life and death? He believes that Jesus as revived the dead. In fact, he is so blind in this belief that he denies our Prophet Muhammad s as this same ability, in spite of the fact that God clearly declares in the Quran: اَهُّيَاٰۤي َنْيِذَّلا اوُنَمٰا اْوُبْيِجَتْسا ِهّٰلِل َو ِلْوُسَّرلِل اَذِا ْمُكاَعَد اَمِل ْمُكْيِيْحُي O ye who believe! Respond to Allah and the Messenger when he calls you that he may give you life.
