[al-Qa si dah] From the Author [In Praise of the Companions of the Prophet] ِ ۡ کَذُکَاء َ کُلَّھُم َّ الصَّحَابَۃ ِاِن ٰ بِضِیَاء َ الۡوَری وَجۡہ ۡ نَوَّرُوۡا قَد All the Companions are like the Sun; They illuminated the world with their light. ۡ َّ عِیَالِھِم ۡ وَحُب اَقَارِبَهم ِتَرَکُوۡا ِّٰ کَالۡفُقَرَاء َ الل رَسُوۡل جَاءُوۡا They left their relatives and beloved children And came to the Messenger of Allah like one who is destitute. ۡ ِذُبِحُوۡا وَمَاخَافُوا الۡوَرٰی مِن ۡ صِدۡقِھِم َء ال َ بَـ َ عِنۡد الرَّحۡمَان ۡ اٰثَرُوا بَل They faced slaughter without fear, such was their sincerity; They gave preference to the Gracious God even at the time of the greatest tribulation. ۡ ِتَحۡت َ السُّیُوۡف ِ تَشَھَّدُوۡا لِخُلُوۡصِھِم َء ال شَھِدُوۡا بِصِدۡق ِ الۡقَلۡب ِ فِی الَۡمۡـ They recited the Shah a dah despite the sword bearing down on their necks; such was their devotion. They testified to the truth publicly with the sincerity of their hearts.
