Lesson No. 1 The Dot A dot has been given below. By placing a finger beside it the child is told that this is a dot. (Nuqtah) Here, the child is made to count the number of dots at a place. He is instructed to count from the right. The child should identify whether the given dots are above the line or below the line. (He should start from the right as before. ) Single Letters In this lesson, alphabets (letters) are being introduced. The pupil is required to pronounce the name of each alphabet as he reads from right to left. If at any stage he is stuck or makes a mistake, as for example he reads a letter as ba whereas it is ta , then he can be told that it is ta as it has two dots above the line, and so forth.
