52 صَوْمٌ قَبْلُ عَوْن صَخَرُ فِيه مَثْوَايَ حَسَنَهُ شَانٌ بَعْدَهُ حَمِدَهُ. LESSON 16. . Representative marks for long vowels. . In this case the shape of the short vowel marks is changed. The mark of fatḥah is written vertical instead of cross wise, thus 1 + simple fatḥah and 'alif is ✓ and ✓ is ✓ bā. The mark of ḍammah is written ring shaped from lower side instead of upper side, thus + simple ḍammah and wāw is and is bū. The mark of kasrah is written vertical instead of crosswise, thus simple kasrah and yā is . and ✓ is bi.
