— 52  The Grinding Wheel Intelligence and kno wledge are separate and different from each other. Knowledge is a good thing to have but knowledge is w orthless without intelligence. There was a king. He called for a renowned astrologer of his kingdom. The king put his son in the custody of the astrologer. The king directed the astrologer to teach his son the knowledge of astrology. The astrologer took the son of the king to his home and educated him. After teaching him all he knew about astrology, he brought him to the king, and said: “Your Excellency, the King! I have taught him all the knowledge of astrology. If you like, you can give him a test. ” The king hid the diamond of his ring in his hand and asked the boy, “U sing your knowledge of astrology, tell me what is in my hand. ” The boy calculated and sai d, “The grinding wheel of a mill. ” The king looked towards the astrologer and said, “What did you teach him?” He said, “Sir, the grinding wheel of a mill is made of stone and a diamond also is a stone.
