164 – the story of al-haj Rashid ahmad american BEGINNING OF THE MILWAUKEE, WI SCONSIN JAMA‘AH Abdush-Shakoor Kunze was appointed as the Missionary in Charge of the Midwest and he was living in the Chicago Mosque with his family. The Chicago Mosque was located on 4448 South Wabash Street in the south side of Chicago (see below left picture). It still remains a mosque today but it has been completely rebuilt. In the below right picture is Kunze standing on the top right and myself on the bottom right. The Missionary in Charge of the United States at the time, Khal i l Ahmad N as ir, appointed Abdush-Shakoor Kunze to start a branch of the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
