However, contrary to such promise, were the declarations of those who rejected Khilafat, instead of conveying his message to the corners of the earth they declared it to be most harmful. Thus, Khawaja Kamal-ud-Din wrote that in Europe: ‘To discuss matters concerning the other sect is, in my knowledge and belief a deadly poison for Islam’ 66 Those who reject [the need for] Khilafat have been putting this policy into practice with great rigour in foreign countries. Then in 1930, he made this announcement: ‘No doubt, we do not present the person or claim of the Promised Messiah as in Woking.
