Fulfilment of Dream (B) 99 Algeria, having won its independence, was admitted to the mem bership of the United Nations in 1962, during my Presidency of the General Assembly. That was an event that gratified me deeply. The Algerian delegation was headed by President Ahmad Ben Bella and included the Foreign Minister Mohammad el Khamisti. The Pak istan delegation to the Session was headed by Mr. Mohammad Ali Bogra, Foreign Minister of Pakistan. President Ben Bella urged him strongly that I should be directed to visit Algeria soon after the termination of the Session. President Muhammad Ayub Khan of Pakistan and President John Fitzgerald Kennedy of the United States addressed the General Assembly during the Session. The President of Pakistan, Field Marshal Muhammad Ayub Khan, paid an official visit to the United Nations Headquarters on 26 September 1962 and addressed the seventeenth session of the General Assembly, which was being presided by Muhammad Zafrulla Khan, President of the General Assembly.
