CHAPTER 14 The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa 's Compassion for Mankind 274 H u du r sa also said, "Eating seven dates for breakfast protects from several diseases. " 42 The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa used to advise cooling the body with water in the case of high fever as an immediate remedy. He used to say, "Fever is like hell fire, cool it down with water. " 43 Once, the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa went to enquire about a patient's health. He asked him if he wished to eat something. The patient replied that he would relish bread made of wheat. The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa immediately commanded that whosoever had that bread should send it for this ill Muslim brother. Then H u du r sa said, "If a patient demands something, you should give it to him to eat. " Another patient on enquiry by the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa said that he would like bread made with flour, sugar and milk. The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa agreed and the patient was provided with this kind of bread. 44 The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa advised that along with nursing care, the patient should be given good food as well. Hadrat ‘ A ’ishah ra relates that H u du r sa advised that a kind of porridge in which meat was also mixed, should be given to the patient as it restores body strength. 45 Similarly she states that if someone fell ill in the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa 's household, under H u du r sa 's instructions, a pot of porridge
