CHAPTER 12 The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa 's fulfilment of promises 240 Muhammad sa at the time of migration, to satisfy his greed of receiving the reward of one hundred camels. He relates, "When I came near the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa , my horse stumbled again and again. I called out the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa. Ab u Bakr ra , under the instruction from H u du r sa enquired as to what I wanted? I requested a guarantee of peace to be written out for me. This was written on a parchment and I returned to Makkah with this written pledge. After the victory of Makkah, at the Battle of H unain, the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa was camped at Ji‘irranah. I went to see him. H u du r sa was being guarded by a mounted battalion of An sa r and they were not allowing me to come near H u du r sa. I held the guarantee of security high and the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa saw it. H u du r sa said, "This is the day of fulfilling covenants, this is the day of doing favours. He then called me to himself. I met H u du r sa and accepted Islam. " 11 The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa honoured the promise made by a Muslim lady. Umme H a n i , daughter of Ab i Ta lib requested the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa at the time of the victory of Makkah that she had given refuge to some of her non-believing in-laws. Even though Hadrat ‘Al i ra opposed, the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa said, "O Umme H a n i , I grant refuge to anyone whom you have given shelter. " 12
