Recitation in this S al a t used to consist of sixty to one hundred verses according to Hadrat Ab u Barzah Aslam i ra. Hadrat ‘Amr bin H uraith ra relates that he heard the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa reciting At-Takw i r in Fajr S al a t. 26 Hadrat Ab u Hurairah ra relates that on Fridays the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa used to recite S u rah Al-Mursal a t and Ad-Dahr in the Fajr S al a t. 27 Hadrat ‘Abdull a h bin ‘Abb a s ra relates that his mother heard him reciting S u rah Al- Mursal a t in the Maghrib S al a t and said, "My son by reciting S u rah Al-Mursal a t , you have reminded me of the day when I heard the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa reciting this S u rah in Maghrib S al a t. " 28 Hadrat Jubair bin Mu t ‘im ra narrates that he heard the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa reciting S u rah At-T u r in Maghrib S al a t. H u du r sa recitation was so beautiful that he loved it. 29 He was so engrossed in listening that he forgot himself.
