CHAPTER 26 The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa 's Love for his own Offspring and other Children 666 H u du r sa 's grand children, Hasan and H usain. The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa loved this child of his old age very much. This child was entrusted to Umme Saif for fostering. The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa used to visit him and enquire about his wellbeing. He would pick him up in his lap and kissed him and embraced him. 51 The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa was very much pleased to see his capabilities at that tender age. This greatly loved child passed away at the age of sixteen months. On his demise H u du r sa , commenting on his God given capabilities said, "If Ibr a h i m had lived he would have been the truthful Prophet". 52 H u du r sa displayed exemplary patience at the death of this very dear child. His eyes brimmed with tears at the funeral. One of the Companions asked, " H u du r sa , you cry as well?" He replied, "This is a natural sentiment of love for children, the eyes shed tears and the heart is sad. But I would never say anything that would make my Lord angry. The truth is that I am deeply grieved at your death, O Ibr a h i m". 53 By chance the solar eclipse occurred at the time of Ibr a h i m's death. People started to say that even the sun is eclipsed at the death of the H u du r sa 's great son. No one loved Ibr a h i m more than the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa but he made this truth clear, that the sun and the moon are signs of God and no one's death
