If your people had not turned me out of it, I would never have left it. " 15 It appears that the people of Mad i nah came to know of this expression of love for Makkah. They started to whisper amongst themselves that the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa was overwhelmed with the love of his home- town and he might stay here. The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa heard this and told An sa r to gather at mount Saf a. He asked them if it was true. They replied, "We said this in view of our love for All a h and His Messenger sa. " H u du r sa said, "All a h and His Messenger testifies this and accepts your excuse. " 16 Then he said, "O An sa r of Mad i nah, my life and my death is with you". 17 When the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa came to Makkah for the last time on the occasion of H ajjat-ul-Wid a ’, the love of his homeland stirred in his heart yet again. ‘Abdur Ra h m a n bin Ha rith ra heard him saying as he was mounting his camel, "O Makkah, by God you are the best homeland and God's beloved land.
