CHAPTER 20 The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa 's good Conduct 504 Hospitality to Foreign Delegations The ninth year Hijrah after the fall of Makkah is known as the year of "‘ A mul Waf u d". During this year a large number of delegations from various parts of the country came to Mad i nah and accepted Islam. The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa showed them respect and kindness and made arrangements for their hospitality. He himself welcomed the Taj i b delegation and arranged good accommodation for them. He instructed Bil a l ra to arrange a banquet and buy gifts for them. 16 A reputable delegation from Ba h rain came. It was called Abdul Qais delegation. These people belonged to Rab i ‘ah tribe. Rab i ‘ah was the brother of H u du r sa 's illustrious grandfather Mu d ar. Due to internal fighting, this tribe had migrated to Ba h rain. The grandeur of the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa 's hospitality was evident from the fact, that he welcomed them with open arms. Later on the members of this delegation used to relate that when they presented themselves to H u du r sa , he and his Companions were overjoyed and a large space was vacated for them. The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa welcomed them and asked them as to who was their chief. They pointed to Mundhir bin ‘ A ’idh. He gave him a seat near him and treated him with love and kindness.
