161 ٍ َا ابْن َ تَصَلُّف ی َ ن آ فَإِن ْ تُعْرِضَن َّ ال ُ ِ خَنْجَر َذِّب ك ُ ِ الْم بَطْن عَلٰی فَھٰذَا If you turn away from confronting me now, It will be as if you were a liar [ready to be killed by] a sword drawn over his belly. َ عَامِدًا ْمَة ی ِ ُ الْھَز َ تَخْتَار ْ کُنْت وَإِن ُ تَحْدُر َّ تَهْوِي ْ بِوَھْد ِ الذُّل ِّ عِجْزًا و َ و If you choose to accept defeat, And fall disgracefully into the pit of ignominy, ٌ َ وَلَعْنَة ْن ی ِ ُ الْعَالَم َال ك َ ن ْھَا ی فَفِ ُ َ تَتَذَکَّر ْ أَل ُم ك ْحَتُ ی ِ فَض ْھَا ی فِ َ و It will bring upon you dishonour and make you accursed both in matters of faith, And the world, and you will suffer humiliation. Will you not reflect upon this? ْع ُ إِن ْ کُنْت َ صَادِقًا ی مَا لَك َ ل َ تَسْطِ َ و ُ ٍ مُيَسَّر ُّ أَمْر ٍ کُل َح ال ِ صَ ْل ھ َ ِأ ل But if you are true in your stance, why do you not find the courage now to confront me? For a truthful person all tasks are made easy. وَکُنْت َ إِذَا خُیِّرْت َ لِلْبَحْث ِ وَالْوَغَا ُ لِتُوَقَّر شَاتِمًا ْنَا ی َ عَلَ سَطَوْت When you were chosen for the debate at Mudh, you launched, An assault against me for the sake of your own honour. ْ لَعَمْرِي ْ لَقَد ْ شَجَّت ْ قَفَاك َ رِسَالَتِي ُ ر ِّ ٌ مُّعَز َ عَوْن ْك ی َأْتِ ی َ َّ ل ْ مِت وَإِن But, I swear by God that my essay struck at your head and broke it apart; Even if you die now, you will not receive the help you thought will make you honourable.
