84 HADRAT MIRZA GHULAM AHMAD أُرِيْ آيَةً عُظمى وَجِئْتُ أَرُوْدُكُمْ فَهَلْ فَاتِكَ أَوْ ضَيْغَمْ أَوْ أَغْبَرُ Behold! I am going to show a great Sign and I am after you now! So, is there a brave one, a lion, or a wolf [among you]? فَقُلْتُ لَكَ الْوَيْلَاتُ أَنْتَ سَتُحْسَرُ وَقَالَ ثَنَاءُ اللَّهِ لِي أَنْتَ كَاذِبٌ Maulawi Sanaullah accused me of being a liar; I told him that I felt sorry for him as he was going to be exposed soon. تَعَالَوْا جَمِيعًا وَانْحِتُوا أَقْلَامَكُمْ وَأَمْلُوْا كَمِثْلِي أَوْ ذَرُوْنِي وَخَيِّرُوا I call upon you all to accept my challenge and get your pens ready; Compose [a qasidah] as I have done, or leave me alone and accept my authority. فَلَا تَلْطَخُوْا أَرْضِيْ وَبِالْمَوْتِ طَهِّرُوا وَأَعْطَيْتُ آيَاتٍ فَلَا تَقْبَلُوْنَهَا I showed you many Signs but you deny them; Hence, defile not my land with filth and let it be free of death and mortality. وَخَيْرُ خِصَالِ الْمَرْءِ خَوْفٌ وَتَوْبَةٌ فَتُوْبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ الْكَرِيمِ وَأَبْشِرُوا The best merit of man is to fear God and repent; Repent to Allah the Benevolent and rejoice.
