p u b l i s h e r ’s n o t e Paigh a m-e- S ul h (A Message of Peace) is the last written work of Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah as , the Founder of the Ahmadiyyah Muslim Jam a ‘at. It was completed on May 25, 1908—just a day before his demise. The citizens of Lahore were the primary audience for this address; however its subject matter is in no way confined to them alone but is of vital importance to the entire population of the Indian subcontinent. The general principles laid down in the work are applicable to all countries which host multiple religions. The Promised Messiah as passed away on May 26, 1908. The address was read out on his behalf at a conference held on June 21, 1908 at the Punjab University, Lahore for which it was intended. The English rendering of the address was done by a board of translators under the supervision and auspices of Hadrat Mirz a Ta hir Ahmad rta , the Fourth Head of the world- wide Ahmadiyyah Muslim Jam a ‘at.
