~ 569 ~ O ye who believe! when you encounter an army, be firm, and remember Allah much that you may prosper. 8:46 And make ready for them who fight you whatever you can of armed force and of mounted pickets at the fron- tier, whereby you may frighten the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you know not, but Allah knows them… 8:61 It does not behove a Prophet that he should have captives until he engages in a regular fighting in the land. If you take captives except in regular fighting you will be regarded as de- siring the goods of the world, while Allah desires f or you the Hereafter. And Allah is Mighty, Wise. 8:68 And if any one of the idola- ters seeks protection of thee, grant him protection so that he may hear the Word of Allah; then convey him to his place of security. That is because they are a people who have no knowledge. 9:6 Permission to take up arms is given to those against whom war is made, because they have been wronged
