Malfuzat - English translation of Urdu Volume 10 418 1 ْيِنَّفَوَت اًمِلْسُم َّو ْيِنْقِحْلَا َنْيِحِلّٰصلاِب ْيِنَّفَوَت اًمِلْسُم َّو ْيِنْقِحْلَا َنْيِحِلّٰصلاِب This is a prayer of Joseph as. So does it also mean, ‘O Allah! Raise me with my physical body to Heaven and join me with the righteous people of the past who are present alive in Heaven’? َ تَعٰلَی الل ُّٰ عَمَّا یَصِفُوۡن َ تَعٰلَی الل ُّٰ عَمَّا یَصِفُوۡن [Exalted be Allah far above all that which they attribute to Him !]. Then the word ْ ِّی تَوَف ْ ِّی تَوَف has been used in the account of the magi- cians that were summoned by Pharaoh against Moses, peace be upon him. As is said: 2 ۤاَنَّبَر ْغِرْفَا اَنْيَلَع اًرْبَص َّو اَنَّفَوَت َنْيِمِلْسُم ۤاَنَّبَر ْغِرْفَا اَنْيَلَع اًرْبَص َّو اَنَّفَوَت َنْيِمِلْسُم Now, it behoves a Muslim to desist from challenging God and His Word. The Quran most certainly affirms the death of Jesus as and proves his having died through arguments and irrefutable proofs. Moreover, on the night of his Mi’raj [Spiritual Ascension], the Noble Messenger s as saw him among the Prophets who had died. Had Jesus been raised to Heaven alive with his physical body, what did he have in common with deceased Prophets? What could be the relationship between the living and the dead, and what could be the common denom- inator between them? There should have been a separate resi- dence set aside for him. 3 ْدَق َنَّيَبَّت ُدْشُّرلا َنِم ِّيَغْلا ْدَق َنَّيَبَّت ُدْشُّرلا َنِم ِّيَغْلا 1. Let death come to me in a state of submission to Your will and join me to the righteous ( S u rah Y u suf, 12:102). [Publisher] 2. Our Lord, pour forth upon us steadfastness and cause us to die resigned to You ( S u rah al-A‘r a f, 7:127). [Publisher] 3. Surely, right has become distinct from wrong ( S u rah al-Baqarah, 2:257).
