Days of Jalsa December 1905 289 Days of Jalsa December 1905 In Loving Memory of the Late Hadrat Maulaw i ‘Abdul-Kar i m Hadrat Maulaw i ‘Abdul-Kar i m was mentioned while outside visiting Bahisht i Maqbarah [the Heavenly Graveyard]. The Promised Messiah as said: He was absolutely absorbed in the love of this Movement. When he first came to me, he was a follower of [Sir] Syed Ahmad [Khan]. At times I would talk with him about such issues that were amongst Syed Ahmad’s erroneous beliefs, and sometimes the discussion would reach a point where it would take on the manner of a debate. However, after a short period of time, one day he openly declared that I should be a witness that, as of today, he has abandoned all these things. After that, he became so absorbed in my love that if I said the stars came out during the day and the sun at night, he would never be one to disagree. He was in complete unity and har- mony with me. He considered it kufr [disbelief ] to hold an opinion contrary to mine regarding any topic. He held the utmost degree of love for me, and he had become one of the A sha b-u s-S uffah 1 who had, early on, been praised by God in His revelation. His life had been spent in simplicity, and he took no share 1. In one corner of the Prophet’s mosque in Madinah, a covered platform was prepared which was known as S uffah. This served as the resting place of indi- gent Emigrants who dedicated themselves to the worship of Allah, the com- pany of the Holy Prophet s as , and recitation of the Holy Quran. They became known as A sha bu s-S uffah. [Publisher]
