31 August 1905 333 Propagation of Islam in Japan Those who do not have the spirit of Islam within themselves, of what benefit will they be to others? When they confess that no one in Islam can now be worthy of God speaking with him and the system of wa hi is closed, then—with this dead religion— what influence will they have upon others? These people do not only wrong themselves but also wrong others by showing them their evil beliefs and deeds, thereby preventing them from entering Islam. What weapon do they possess with which they want to con- quer those belonging to other faiths? The Japanese are looking for an excellent religion. Who will take their rotten and worn- out provision?
