254 MALFUZAT - ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF URDU VOLUME 7 26 JULY 1905 (At the time of Fajr Prayer) An Opportunity to Develop a Change within Yourself There was a strong earthquake shock this morning at around 3 o'clock. The Promised Messiahas came for the morning Prayer and said: I was praying yesterday that such people are growing in wick- edness, and negligence has made their hearts dull, if this state of calm and peace continues, their scorn would increase. This trend [of earthquakes] should continue. The Promised Messiahas said: Now these materialistic deniers of Divine power have come to face Allah the Exalted. They had decreed that no calamity was about to come. The Promised Messiahas said in the end that now is an excellent time for our Jama'at to create a change within itself so that Allah the Exalted may also deal with them differently. The Promised Messiahas said: God Almighty deals with man based on his expectations from God and the transformation within him. So have great expec- tations from God and never get tired or despaired in prayer and hope.
