One ought to be steadfast and courageous during God's trial. Keep in mind that a trial is indeed the thing through which a person can gain great and lofty ranks. Ritual Prayers and prostrations beseeching the world mean nothing. A believer should not complain about the Divine decrees and determinations, and learn how to be pleased with the will of God. In my opinion, the one who does this is indeed from among the Truthful, the Martyrs, and the Righteous. There is nothing greater than life; one ought to be prepared to sacrifice it at all times in the way of God, and this indeed is what I desire. The Promised Messiahas said: It always so happens that where man desires for a patient to be saved, that is where mistakes are made. Dr Khalifah Rashid-ud-Dīna submitted at this point that a few days ago the Promised Messiahas had said that he had seen in a dream that a death was to take place in this house and a goat had been slaugh- tered. As Maulawi Noor-ud-Deen ra ra was unwell in those days, an appre- hension arose concerning him. Nawwab Muhammad Ali Khan, Dr Abdus-Sattar Shah, and he himself-all three-were a witness to this. The Promised Messiahas said: Divine decrees are of two kinds. One is called taqdir mu'allaq [suspended] and the second is called taqdir mubram [absolute]. Once Divine will is set in motion, then there is no remedy for it. If this too had a remedy, then the entire world would have been saved.
