11 September 1907 373 11 September 1907 (Before Z uhr Prayer) Human Nature is Not a Permanent Guide Human nature cannot serve as a guide on a permanent basis as it can also become a proxy for Satan and lead one astray. It is said: 1 ُّلُك ٍۭبْزِح اَمِب ْمِهْيَدَل َنْوُحِرَف ُّلُك ٍۭبْزِح اَمِب ْمِهْيَدَل َنْوُحِرَف because certain defects develop due to illusory thoughts enter- ing into human nature. Obsequiousness is a Bad Disease The wretched people of Makkah used to employ obsequious- ness. This is indeed the meaning of: 2 ْيِف ْمِهِبْوُلُق ٌضَرَّم١ۙ ُمُهَداَزَف ُهّٰللا اًضَرَم ْيِف ْمِهِبْوُلُق ٌضَرَّم١ۙ ُمُهَداَزَف ُهّٰللا اًضَرَم The unfortunate evil ones who have this filth in them, it is com- mendable to rid them of their filth. 1. Every party rejoicing in what they have ( S u rah ar-R u m, 30:33). [Publisher] 2. In their hearts was a disease, and Allah has increased their disease to them ( S u rah al-Baqarah, 2:11 ).
