Malf uza t - English translation of Urdu Volume 9 370 provided the option of divorce, so in this way, they may safe- guard themselves from the calamities and difficulties that may be encountered in the absence of divorce. Or, at times, others may also encounter such situations and such incidents can take place where there is no other way except for divorce. Therefore, Islam—which covers all situations—has also shown this way of divorce, and has at the same time deemed it undesirable. Allah the Exalted is the Provider The Promised Messiah as said: The true Provider is God Almighty. A person who puts his trust in Him, can never be deprived of provisions. A person who places trust in Him, God provides for him from every way and every place. God Almighty states that the one who relies and trusts Him, He showers provisions upon him from the heavens and grows them from under his feet. Therefore, everyone must put their trust in God Almighty. Consequence of Cruelty to One’s Wife There was mention of an individual. The Promised Messiah as said: I have received many letters from him [stating] that he is often unwell and has become so weak that he cannot even do his work adequately, and due to this he is compelled to take a long leave of absence; but in reality the matter is that the con- sequence of cruelty is always terrible.
