Malf uza t - English translation of Urdu Volume 9 258 A Prophecy of Warning can be Averted They raise objections concerning the prophecies related to Atham or Ahmad Baig, but do not even mention other prophecies and Signs. How unjust this is! I have explained to them many a time that a prophecy of warning can be averted. Observe that the prophecy of Jonah was averted, and no chas- tisement befell his nation. Keep in mind that it is the belief of all peoples that giving s adaqah [charity] dispels calamity, and God Almighty also states: 1 اَم َناَك ُهّٰللا ْمُهَبِّذَعُم َو ْمُه َنْوُرِفْغَتْسَي اَم َناَك ُهّٰللا ْمُهَبِّذَعُم َو ْمُه َنْوُرِفْغَتْسَي Istighf a r [seeking forgiveness from Allah] is a means of safe- guarding against punishment. Should anyone judge by my experiences, then if there is an ominous command in the morn- ing, it is abrogated in the evening. Interpretive Mistake The second objection is on my personal views relating to some of my revelations that they ended up being wrong. Acknowledging it, I say that the matter that needs to be analysed is whether a Prophet can make a mistake in their interpretation or not. So, we observe that Jesus as initially considered his kingdom to be worldly, and directed his disciples to buy arms, but eventually it was realised that it was his mistake, and he refrained from it. Then there is the incident of our Messenger of God, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, concerning the Treaty of 1. Allah would not punish them while they sought forgiveness ( S u rah al-Anf a l, 8:34). [Publisher]
