Malf uza t - English translation of Urdu Volume 9 50 infuse life into him. He will manifest the fulfilment of the promises that He had made to him. 1 This is my advice time and time again that you analyse your nafs [self ] repeatedly as much as is possible. Giving up an evil is also a Sign. Seek from Allah alone that He may give you the ability because: 2 ْمُكَقَلَخ َو اَم َنْوُلَمْعَت ْمُكَقَلَخ َو اَم َنْوُلَمْعَت It is He indeed who has created the faculties. 3 Then I also see another defect. Some people get tired [of praying]. I have received such letters, the writers of which have disclosed that they offered Prayers for four years, or for so many years, and continued making supplications, but to no benefit. I consider such people unmanly. One should not get tired. ربدن راہ دبوتس ابندش رگ رشط قشع اتس در بلط رمدن If one cannot find a way to reach his friend, Love demands that he perish in this quest. I would even go so far as to say that one must neither tire out nor withdraw even if thirty or forty years elapse; even if emo- tions continue to increase. Almighty Allah does not let perish 1. From Badr : ‘He does not die until the promises of Almighty God given to him are fulfilled, and there occurs no diminution in his Movement whatsoever. ’ ( Badr, vol. 6, nos. 1, 2, p. 16, dated 10 January 1907) 2. Whereas Allah has created you and your handiwork? ( S u rah a s-Sa ff a t, 37:97) [Publisher] 3. From Badr : ‘To give up evils is not in anyone’s own hand. Get up at night for this and make supplications before God in the Tahajjud [pre-dawn] Prayer. He is the One who created you. ْمُكَقَلَخ َو اَم َنْوُلَمْعَت ْمُكَقَلَخ َو اَم َنْوُلَمْعَت —( S u rah a s-Sa ff a t, 37:97).
