Last Law-bearing Prophet sa 63 It must be remembered that the Holy Qur’ ā n, as we believe, is a book of complete and perfect laws which need not be abrogated. The question, therefore of a new law does not arise at all. No new law needs promulgation, nor is there a need for a new Prophet with a new law. This is a fact which is wholly based on the Holy Qur’ ā n - the word of God, and is also supported by the general consensus of the Muslim divines. Muslim scholars of the past have explained that the correct meaning of the expression Kh ā taman- Nabiyyen and Laa Nabi B'adi simply mean that no Prophet would ever come after the Holy Prophet (sa), who would revoke and abrogate the law of the Qur’ ā n - Isl ā m. So now, only non law-bearing revelation can come. The Qur’ ā n is the perfect and complete law of Isl ā m and there would be no new law in the future. The Holy Qur’ ā n has repeatedly stated that saints and sages of Isl ā m will definitely be honoured with non law-bearing revelation. God the Gracious has given the firm promise that the true followers of the Holy Qur’ ā n and the Holy Prophet (sa) shall be raised to the rank of those whom God loves: ‘And whoso obeys All ā h and this messenger shall be among those on whom All ā h has bestowed His blessings - the Prophets, the Truthful, the Martyrs and the Righteous. And an excellent company are they. ’ (Chapter 4, Verse 70). And again, All ā h says in the Holy Qur’ ā n: ‘Behold! the friends of All ā h shall certainly have no fear, nor shall they grieve.
