300 With Love to Muhammad sa the Kh ā tam-un-Nabiyy ī n “Had he Lived, he would have been a Prophet” a ُّ ِcِKْبَاFا a ً ;َبiِب a ُ بْن a ُ دَاود a حَدَّثeََا a ً َّدdَُحG a ُ بْن a ِ اFْ`ُدُّوس a ُ @َبْد a حَدَّثeََا a ُ بْن a ُ إبْرَاiِKم a حَدَّثeََا a ْ @َن a ً َمWْ`ِG a ْ @َن a َ @ُتiَْبَۃ a ُ بْن a ُ اFْحaََم a حَدَّثeََا a َ @ُثdَْان a ِ ْہiَcَ@ a ُ اﷲ a َّcَ< a ِ اﷲ a ِ رَ:ُول a ُ ابْن a ُ إبْرَاiِKم a َ Gَات a َّاdَF a َ Cَال a ً @َبَّاس a ِ ابْن a Fَہ a َّ إن a َ وCََال a َ َّمcَ:َو a ِ ْہiَcَ@ a ُ اﷲ a َّcَ< a ِ اﷲ a ُ رَ:ُول a ِ ْہiَcَ@ a َّcَ< a َ ّمcَ:َو a ِB a ُرْ=ِ]ٍاG ٍّاiَِبH a ٍا`Mِِّد a َ aَFَان a َ @َاش a ْ وFََو a ِ اFْجeََّۃ 295 Hazrat Ibn ‘Abb ā s ra narrated: “When Ibr ā h ī m, the son of the Prophet sa of All ā h died, the Holy Prophet sa performed his funeral prayer and said, ‘There is a maid for him in Paradise, and if he had lived, he would surely have become a prophet. . . ’. ” 296 This had ī th about the Holy Prophet’s sa son, Ibr ā h ī m, is clear, absolute proof of the continuity of prophethood. However, Farhan Khan chooses to make certain criticisms, the first of which is as follows: The entire statement is closed in an if-statement.
