Continuation of Prophethood according to the Holy Qur’ ā n 269 A similar glad tiding is given in another verse of the Holy Qur’ ā n in a chapter where All ā h, the Exalted, has proclaimed many prophecies about the Latter Days. All ā h says: ْؕ اُﻗِّﺘَﺖ ُ اﻟﺮُّﺳُﻞ وَاِذَا And when the messengers are made to appear at the appointed time. 265 Ahmad ī Muslims do not accept Farhan Khan’s meanings because he says no prophet can come whereas All ā h says prophets can come with the condition of complete obedience to All ā h and His Prophet Muhammad sa as foretold in the Holy Qur’ ā n (4:70). Finally, it must be noted that Hazrat Im ā m Jal ā l-ud-D ī n Suy ū t ī rh has written the following about these verses in S ū rah Al-A‘r ā f: ْ بَ]ْدKَُم a Gن a ِّ وaFُل a ِ اFزGََّان a َ ذFِٰک a ِ ﻻKَْل a خِ[َاب a َّہHَِاB 266 It is addressed to the people of that age and all the ages to come. Therefore, Farhan Khan’s understanding is rejected based on its absurdity, disconnect with the language of the Qur’ ā n, Arabic grammar, context of the verse, and the explicit statement of Hazrat Im ā m Jal ā l-ud-D ī n Suy ū t ī rh.
