“I am the Last Brick and I am the Last of the prophets” 147 published by the government of Pakistan. Hazrat Mirz ā T ā hir Ahmad rh explains the reason behind quoting Ibn Khald ū n in the following words:. . . Ibn Hajar al-‘Asqal ā n ī is not included in that list [of 4 scholars contained in the booklet] which consists of those whom they consider to be the greatest, well- accepted elders, thinkers and philosophers of Isl ā m. However, among those four, All ā ma Ibn Khald ū n is included. Let’s see what he has said regarding this. . . 146 This is the reason why Ibn Khald ū n has been quoted by Hazrat Mirz ā T ā hir Ahmad rh. It is only about his opinion about that particular had ī th , and not about his opinion about the end of prophethood. However, since Farhan Khan has brought up the issue, let us quote directly from his book where he states that Ibn Khald ū n wrote the following in Al-Muqadimmah : “… there will be no other prophet and no other religious law (in the short time) between (Muhammad) and the Hour. ” 147 This is exactly what Ahmad ī Muslims believe. Between the Holy Prophet sa and the Hour there would be no prophet and no new religious law, but in the Last Hour a prophet would rise and he would be the Messiah as. This is confirmed in several ah ā d ī th. For example, in Abu Daud we read: “Abu Hurairah ra narrated: ‘The Prophet sa said, “There is no prophet between me and him, that is, Jesus as. He will descend…’”. 148 146 Irf ā ne Khatme Nubuwwat , Page 353 [Translated from Urdu by the authors] 147 Khan, With Love , Page 15 148 Kit ā b-ul-Mal ā him, B ā b Khur ū j-ud-Dajj ā l or Book of Battles, had ī th no. 4310
