Nothing has remained of Prophethood except Mubashir ā t 131 As a result, how is it possible for us to take the word ru’y ā so lightly? In view of the experiences of the Holy Prophet sa in this ru’y ā or isr ā ’ , it can be said that a ru’y ā can contain the high and lofty features of prophethood. It is a part of the essence of prophethood. It has so many heights that one cannot imagine. Consider this had ī th narrated by Hazrat Ayesha ra : اﷲ a ُ رَ:ُوْل a ِ بِہ a َ بُدِئ a Gَا a ُ أول a و:cم a @icہ a اﷲ a c< a َ Gِن اeFَّوْم a B a ُ اYFَّاFِحَۃ a اFرُّؤ Mَْا a ِ اFْوَحْ “The commencement of the Divine Wah ī [ Revelation ] to All ā h’s Apostle sa was in the form of ar-ru’y ā as- s ā lihah … 127 Another narration is: اﷲ a ُ رَ:ُول a َ بِہ a َ بُدِئ a Gَا a ُ أول a و:cم a @icہ a اﷲ a c< a َ Gِن اeFَّوْم a B a ُ اYFَّادCَِۃ a اFرَّؤ Mَْا a ِ اFوَحْ The commencement of the Divine Wah ī [ Revelation ] to All ā h’s Apostle sa was in the form of ar-ru’y ā as- s ā diqa … 128 In other words, ar-ru’y ā as-s ā liha was a part of the wah ī or revelation of the Holy Prophet sa.
