Nothing has remained of Prophethood except Mubashir ā t 127 not be deprived of his beneficence. In other words, it is through the spiritual grace and beneficence of the Holy Prophet sa that a muslim , a mu’min or a s ā lih sees true dreams. To understand this better, we must turn to the Holy Qur’an. In the terminology of the Holy Qur’ ā n, a s ā lih is that person who is rewarded and in the group of those people who are rewarded, a s ā lih is at the first stage. When we look at the ummah of the Holy Prophet sa , the large majority is made up of the s ā lih ī n [the righteous]. When the Holy Prophet sa uses the words, dream of a muslim or a dream of a mu’min or a dream that a righteous person is shown , it means that true dreams will continue to be experienced by the large majority of the Muslims. However, those who are at higher levels or stages, namely, the shuhad ā ’ [ witnesses ], the sidd ī q ī n [ truthful ], and the nabiyy ī n [ prophets ], among the disciples of the Holy Prophet sa , were not under discussion in this particular had ī th. In this sense, the Holy Prophet sa did not deprive the generally pious followers of his ummah from that part of prophethood which is the 46 th – the ru’y ā s ā liha [true dream]. On the other hand, the greater stages achievable through the spiritual beneficence of the Holy Prophet sa are also clearly evident from the extraordinary aspects of al-mubashir ā t and ar- ru’y ā s ā liha. This is better understood when one studies the following verse of S ū rah An-Nis ā ’: َ ﻣِّﻦ ْ ﻋَﻠَهيِْﻢ ُّٰ اهلل َ اَﻧْﻌَﻢ َ اذلَِّﻳْﻦ َ ﻣَﻊ َ ﻓَﺎُوﻟٰٓﯩِٕﻚ َ وَاﻟﺮَّﺳُﻮْل َّٰ اهلل ِ ﻳُّﻄِﻊ ْ وَﻣَﻦ َْ وَاﻟﺼّٰﻠِﺤِني ِ وَاﻟﺸُّﻬَﺪَآء َْ وَاﻟﺼِّﺪِّﻳْﻘِني َّٖ ۚاﻟﻨَّﺒِني ؕ رَﻓِﻴْﻘًﺎ َ اُوﻟٰٓﯩِٕﻚ َ وَﺣَﺴُﻦ And whoso obeys All ā h and this Messenger of His shall be among those on whom All ā h has bestowed His blessings, namely, the Prophets, the Truthful, the
