Fo o T N o T e F r o M PAG e 31 Fo o T N o T e F r o M PAG e 31 61 Here, it should also be kept in mind that when some con- temporary Christian missionaries, who are apt at concealment of truth, realized that such sweeping reform occurred at the hands of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, as could not be concealed, and in contrast, the reform brought about by Jesus Christ in his time was negligible, they became wor- ried; for, to reform the misguided and bring the sinful back into the fold of righteousness is the authentic hallmark of the True Prophet, and it was carried out in such a perfect and complete manner by the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, that the reformation effected by Jesus bears no com- parison with it. Seeing this, they tried to veil the Sun with their deceitful schemes. As Reverend James Cameron Lace has pub- lished in his lecture, they misled the ignorant by saying that the people [of Arabia] had already been prepared for this reformation and that idolatry and shirk had already fallen from grace in their eyes. But, if those who express this view are right in their opinion, it is incumbent upon them to back it up with the kind of proof that is advanced by the Noble Qur’an against them. It says: [S u rah al- H ad i d, 57:18] — اْۤوُمَلْعِا َّنَا َهّٰللا ِيْحُي َضْرَاْلا َدْعَب اَهِتْوَم And after declaring all of them dead, Allah attributes their resur- rection to Himself alone and says repeatedly at various instances that they were shackled in the chains of misguidance and We freed them, that they were blind and We gave them sight, and that they were in the dark and We granted them light. These statements were not made in secret; they all heard the Holy Qur’an, and they did not deny any of these statements, nor did they ever profess that
