as AT HOSHIARPUR 143 was in the hands of God. This is the true meaning of Islam—perfect submission to the will of God. And it is only by such submission that the kingdom of God can come on earth as it is in heaven—and not by mere word of mouth repeated every Sunday or every Friday. No one knows what Ahmad as did upstairs. M. Abdullah Sanauri ra used to take his food to him; and he says that once or twice Ahmad as told himself a little of the religious experience he was going through. Ahmad as was enjoying communion with the Almighty, Who would talk to him for a long time. Ahmad as held long discourse with his Heavenly Father and had wonderful experiences of His love and affection, which were of a nature too deep and intimate to be disclosed to the outside world. Once he told M. Abdullah Sanauri ra that God had revealed to him the following words: 'Blessed is the one in it and blessed are those who are around it. ' He explained its meaning by saying that the first part referred to his own self and the second to his companions present there at that moment. Fate h Khan was absent at the time on an errand. His credentials were prepared and he was given, as it were, an audience of the Supreme Sovereign. The mighty sign which Ahmad as asked of God was also granted him; and it
