Ahmad as thereupon prayed to God and in answer to his prayer was told that the case would be remitted to the lower court, where the term of Bashambar D a s imprisonment would be reduced by half while Khush ha l, the other accused, would have to serve the full term. On receipt of news of the remission of the case to the lower court, it was given out in the night by Dhanpat, their relative at Qadian, that the accused were acquitted and that they had already reached home. Ahmad as was worried on account of the bad effect it might produce on the people regarding Islam. He, however, received a revelation that the news of the acquittal was false. The truth came out the next morning, and people marvelled at the wonderful manner in which God had informed Ahmad as beforehand of what was to happen. There was another suit pending in a court, probably at Batala, which Ahmad’s as father had brought against one of his tenants. He was told in a vision that his father would win the case and he mentioned it to Sharampat R a ’i. A few days later the tenant appeared in the court with some of his witnesses, unrepresented by any lawyer. On their return to Qadian they all declared that the suit had been dismissed. Sharampat laughed at Ahmad as and his vision. The latter was naturally extremely grieved at the news.
