PLEADINGS WITH SCRIBES as 506 Mub a hala as prescribed by Islam; and (6) finally, Ahmad as suggested that, if they were not prepared for any of these, the mullahs should enter into a seven years truce with him. He hoped that within this short period he would succeed in vindicating and establishing the superiority of Islam over all other faiths. The mullahs should leave him alone and treat him as one of their co-religionists. In his leaflet, dated 15-7-1897, Ahmad as adjured all men and women in the name of God to pray to God individually for at least three weeks imploring Him to reveal unto them whether Ahmad as was really from God or otherwise. In appealing tones he said: But very few responded. Could Ahmad as have been any fairer? ' Ahmad as offers the world a choice not only of signs but of all the possible categories of signs, so much so that his opponents do not know what choice to make.
