Then there is provided in the law no remedy for the unfortunate victims of his lust. The marriage tie is indissoluble so the wife cannot leave him and the other woman has no legal claim upon him. Thus the irresponsible and the unscrupulous are permitted to work havoc in society in the name of religion. Human nature revolts against the whole conception. Even animals have a greater sense of self-respect. Ahmad as appealed to the Sam a jists in the name of humanity not to crush out their own nature and conscience to this extent. He issued leaflets and asked their leaders to pluck up courage and disown the doctrine, but however embarrassed they might have felt in their hearts, they did not openly condemn it.
