MUBAHALA WITH ABDUL H AQ as 372 settle everything with them once and for all, so that he might then be able to devote his attention exclusively to the enemies of Islam. He fixed a period of four months in which the Muslim priests could come forward and enter into a Mub a hala with him strictly in accordance with Islamic teachings. The words of God in which he was permitted to do so are: While publishing this Divine permission Ahmad as took care to reiterate his universal invitation to non- Muslims so that they might not have an opportunity of thinking that domestic differences could ever compel Ahmad as to disappear from the public scene.
