Surma Chashm A rya By the end of September 1886, Ahmad as had prepared and published his book — Surma Chashm A rya (priced Rs. 1/12/-) in which a report of the debate held with Murl i dhar at Hoshiarpur is recorded. In April 1886, he made some enquiries from Amritsar and Lahore about the cost of printing, which was started in May or June. His idea was to have the book ready by the end of Ramadan, but heavy rains delayed the printer’s work. When it was nearing completion he had to go to Ambala. He was so particular about it that he instructed the Riy ad -e-Hind press to send all the copies from Amritsar to Ambala (Hata Nag-Pahni, Muhalla Ghausian, Bungalow Muhammad La ti f), where he was staying, so that he could check the order of the pages of the book himself.
