SECOND ANNUAL GATHERING as 366 Khud a Bakhsh (secretary), and Sh. Ra h matullah ra of Gujrat. The meetings were held at Ahmad’s as house and at Khan Muhammad Ali Khan’s ra place. Many had come to Qadian on foot and most of them had to sleep on the ground. About 50 persons joined the fold. Ahmad as had written several letters to M i r Nasir Nawab ra , his father-in-law, requesting him to attend the annual gathering. Though the M i r Sahib ra was dead against Ahmad as and orignally had no idea of coming to Qadian, yet the kind way in which Ahmad as repeatedly asked him moved him to accede to his request. He reached Qadian on the morning of the 27th. As he mixed with the people and talked to Ahmad as his hatred was changed into admiration and love and he was thoroughly converted. The M i r Sahib was one of those early opponents who had created suspicions against Ahmad as in the mind of Muhammad Husain; but now the position was reversed. Muhammad Husain tried his best to keep the M i r Sahib away from Ahmad as but failed in his attempt; and the father-in-law of Ahmad as became his most devoted disciple. His conversion was marvellous indeed. It shows the paramount excellence of Ahmad’s as character and mission.
