300 CHAPTER 26 JESUS as IS DEAD The three books of Ahmad as — Fat h -e-Islam , Tau dih- e- Mar a m and Iz a la’-e-Auh a m —spread far and wide. They brought tears of joy to the eyes of the righteous, for they recognized the word of their God. They circulated these books among their friends and relations so that they might also partake of the spiritual blessing. The hearts of seekers after truth were illumined and they were comforted by the reasonable exposition of their problems which they found in these books. The number of the faithful increased. But the blind leaders of the blind stumbled and fell. One wonders at their mentality. The type of mullah who opposed Ahmad as in those days has now completely disappeared from the scene. Already the youth of today is openly asserting in India that the Ahmadis are telling incredible stories when they tell him that his parents and their spiritual leaders really believed that Jesus as was still alive in the heavens with his physical body and that he would descend one day and establish Islam with the sword.
