What crime have you committed?” The purpose of renewing the Bai‘at of Sheikh Yaqub Ali was that he had arranged a meeting in which he condemned those people who had humiliated the system of Khilafat. Though it was an act of goodness, Hadrat Khalifatul Masih I ra said, “Since he was not assigned this job, he had no right to convene a meeting on his own”. Thus, Bai‘at was renewed by these three persons and they repented before all the gathering. After the Jalsa was over and the people went to their homes, the dissidents started making plans against Hadrat Khalifatul Masih I ra more actively. Maulaw i Muhammad Ali Sahib started saying that he had been humiliated to such an extent as he could no longer live in Qadian. Doctor Khalifah Rashiduddin (deceased) was very close to Maulaw i Muhammad Ali in those days. One day, he came to Hadrat Khalifatul Masih I ra in great distress. By chance, I was also there. As soon as he arrived, he exclaimed, “ H u du r! Please do something as the situation has become quite grave”. Hadrat Khalifatul Masih I ra asked what had happened. He said, “Maulaw i Muhammad Ali is saying that he has been greatly humiliated here and he cannot live in Qadian under any condition. H u du r!
