GLOSSARY Bahishti Maqbarah— In a book- let written by the Promised Messiah as in 1905 entitled The Will, he gave the news of his demise and the glad tidings of Khilafat. In a vision, he saw the site of his grave called the Ba- hishti Maqbarah, which trans- lates into the ‘Heavenly Grave- yard. ’ He was told in the dream that this place would contain the graves of righteous mem- bers of the Jama’at. The Heav- enly Graveyard was established by the Promised Messiah as for the burial of those Ahmadis who have joined the scheme of Wasiyyat. The conditions to be buried in the Bahishti Maqba- rah are that one would live a righteous life, and also con- tribute at least 1/10 of their in- come/property for the service of Islam. Bai‘at —An oath of allegiance taken by Ahmadis as a prom- ise to accept the Promised Messiah as as the Imam of the Age and his Khalifah as the rightly guided leader of our Community appointed by Allah.
