? human creation laid down by Allah the Almighty? 49 Allah has not merely stated this as the aim of human creation; He has gone a step further. He has declared that such men will be born among the human species as would achieve that end, and giving them the glad tidings, He says: "O thou the contented soul come back to thy Lord while thou art happy with Him and He is pleased with thee, join therefore, my servants and enter my paradise. " STATE OF CONTENTED SOUL Here another subtle truth has been hinted at; it pertains to the condition of the contented soul the one with whom God is pleased and who is similarly, happy with his Lord. About the companions of the Holy Prophet (peace of Allah be on him and His blessings), He observes: رضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ i. e. , Allah was pleased with them and they were happy with Him (98:9). This verse would in the light of the verse, read like this: يَأْيِّعُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ. . . جَنَّتِي
