72 JESUS IN INDIA 1. One was that he lived to the ripe old age of one hundred and twenty-five (125) years. 2. Second, that he travelled to many parts of the world and was therefore called the ‘travelling prophet. ' Now it is evident that had he been raised to the skies at thir- ty-three (33), the report that he lived for one hundred and twen- ty-five (125) years could not be true, nor could he have managed to travel so widely in such a short lifespan of thirty-three years. Not only are these narrations found in the earliest and reliable collections of ahadith, but it is not possible to think of narrations that are more widely known and so consistently accepted among all the sects of Islam. Kanzul-'Ummāl, which is a comprehensive collection of Ahadith, contains this hadith, in volume 2, page 34, from Abu Huraira: اوحى الله تعالى إلى عيسى ان يا عيسى انتقل من مكان إلى مكان لئلا تعرف فتوزي 1 That is to say, Allah, the Exalted, sent revelation to Jesus, may peace be on him, that, O Jesus! Keep moving from one place to another, i. e. go from one country to another so that upon recognising you someone should not cause you distress. 1.
