~ 26 ~ It is narrated by Ā ’ishah, may All ā h be pleased with her, that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of All ā h be upon him) said, “Make announcement of the Nik āḥ and publicize it by beating a drum. ” (Ibn M ā jah, Kit ā bun-Nik āḥ ) No Nik āḥ Without a Guardian for the Bride There is no Nik āḥ without the consent of the guardian of the bride. Following Ḥ ad ī th categorically states, “If any woman marries without the consent of her guardian, her marriage is void, her marriage is void, her marriage is void. ” (Tirmidh ī , Kit ā bun-Nik āḥ ) Two Witnesses are a Must for Nik āḥ Nik āḥ is the public announcement of a marriage in the presence of the witnesses. The secret marriages have no room in Isl ā m. According to the Isl ā mic law, the Nik āḥ without the consent of guardian of the bride and without two honest witnesses is invalid, “There is no marriage without the consent of the guardian of the bride and two honest witnesses”
