Thou art indeed very intelligent and right-minded’. 12 Simple Lifestyle Islam advocates a simple lifestyle. It prohibits extravagance and encourages expenditure: Keep not thy hand chained to thy neck, nor stretch it out an entire stretching, lest thou sit down blamed or exhausted. 13 Give thou to the kinsman his due, and to the poor and the wayfarer, and squander not thy wealth extravagantly. Verily, the extravagant are brothers of Satan, and Satan is ungrateful to his Lord. 14
